What is Meditation?
Meditation is simply the practice of bringing your awareness into the present moment. It’s about training your mind to slow down, let go of distractions, and connect with yourself. Think of it like closing all the internet tabs in your mind and just being.
How to Start (Beginner's Guide)
Find a Quiet Space – Sit on the floor, a cushion, or even a chair. Keep your back straight but relaxed.
Set a Timer – Start with 5 minutes (you can increase over time).
Focus on Your Breath – Inhale slowly for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds.
Observe Your Thoughts – Your mind will wander. That’s normal. When it happens, just notice the thought, let it pass, and bring your focus back to your breath.
Be Present – You can focus on your breath, the sounds around you, or even just the feeling of sitting still. The goal is to stay in the moment.
What to Expect
At first, your mind might feel noisy—like a browser with too many tabs open. Over time, meditation helps clear that clutter, bringing calm, focus, and clarity into your life.
You can meditate in silence.
You can use a guided meditation (YouTube has great ones).
You can play calming sounds (nature, white noise, or meditation music).
There’s no right or wrong way—just keep showing up. The more you do it, the easier it gets. Try to do this daily. Extend the time when it feels right.
Clear Your Mind. Design Your Life.
